I just bought a 15 variable speed Montgomery ward tractor with a scrape blade I don't know much about it. It is in rough shape and I m having trouble getting fire to the plug , points and condenser looks new switch don't work and I would like to know about what year it is

Welcome to GTtalk.  Have you checked to see if you have pwr to the points?  Someone a bit more familiar with the Montgomery ward tractor should be along before to long.

Welcome to the forum! Not a MW guy here, but I'm sure someone will be along. Pics can be a good help for folks to identify which tractor you have and maybe see something to help you out. Model, serial, and spec of the engine can help a lot too!

Think those are Gilson's??  Some had that small wheel with rubber tire on them that rubs on a smooth metal wheel. It moves in or out on the smooth wheel to get the variable speeds. I had one like that many moons ago and was just a kid, so not sure exactly what I had anymore. I've slept since then, ha!

I m not real sure about how to check to see if points are getting fire and it has what I ve been told it has an up draft carb
