I have a 50" mower (09jc9838) for my 1976 LGT165 that is in pretty rough shape (lots of rust).

The spindles are good, just the deck shell is rusted and has been repaired at least once by the PO. Probably will get me through the mowing season, but I need to consider finding a replacement deck shell (NOT cheap @ New Holland).

Are there mowers from other brands of tractors that may fit with little or no modifications required?

Thanks

GEL

Those 50" decks are a little harder to come by. Got some pics of it?

NY, Most of the decks from these tractors are beat up. I have looked on ebay where you can find them but most have been redone and are pricey. Its hit or miss on craigslist. I have about 4 decks now of different sizes all needing some degree of work. My advise to you is fix your deck the best you can and keep looking for one that may not need to much work and get it redone at a fab shop. Probably still cheeper than New Holland. Most people wont ship a deck so its best to find one close. They are out there, you just have to keep looking and pull the trigger when one comes up. I think Rock farmer has some numbers from a ny guy with parts. For some reason Conn. craigslist shows more Jakes than others. Good Luck!
