Almost done with "Cucumber Clunker" now. Was driving it around some today. Need to go thru it and try to adjust trans linkage for better action and correct brake action. Greased up the steering on it, and is working better now. Still need to paint rear wheels and get decals, oh yeah, and make up some hood latch straps. Have straps, just need to pop-rivet on.

Need one of those toolboxes I've seen on some that go between the fenders, back of seat. Think that will stiffen those up a lot. OR, else I'm gonna just build a strap across in couple places. Box would be nice handy item tho. Anyone have one they would sell?

990's are big solid GT's and that one looks very nice. The tool box sounds handy and is an added bonus if it props up the floppy fenders you sometimes see on 990's.

Nice, very nice. I had a 1972 Volvo that color once...

As for the tool box, run heavy straps and watch for a small ammo can with the latching lid to mount to the straps.

It's coming along great!   I like the tool box idea, keeping a few tools  handy saves time .  I keep an adjustable  hanging off one loader handle and a pair of pruners on the other on PK  more tools would be even better

You need to make room for a hammer, absolutely.  The only thing you can't fix with a hammer is an electrical problem.

Very nice, I'm thinking that if MTD would have done the Olivers instead of Jacobsen, that's what it would look like.

Maybe it was said earlier and I didn't catch it, What year is your 990?
