So this week being the end of the semseter with finals next week, the auto tech teacher"s have a cookout and blow a couple car motors up an set off a couple air bags sounds fun right?? Well things got carried away this year a fellow student had his gt down there doing some work to it, aparently nobody cared or thought that he wanted it and set air bags off under it tired running it over with a truck just trashing this poor gt. He got reimbursied for the damages they did so he didnt press charges but now im trying to fix it for him so he can once again mow his lawn on his beater gt.
Its a Montgomery Ward 16hp opossed twin with a 46"cut.(mtd made)the destruction resulted in the intake breaking the hood getting bent to crap the dash broke and a few other minor things. Talking to my autobody teacher about it today he said bring it when once it runs good again and well custom paint it for him. Ill try to have some pics up tomorrow or sunday. Does anybody have any parts laying around that will work for this rider or one similar style trying to fix as cheap as possible for him??

It looks very similar to this

Tell me about the engine.  I'm assuming Briggs, right?  By intake, you mean the "yoke" style casting that the carburetor sits on and which goes to each side of the engine, correct?

I have one or two loose if the p/n is right.

It should be on the shroud on a rectangular plaque.  If it's AWOL, you can get a picture of what's left of the intake for me.

What kind of a school allows the instructors and students to go wild like that and destroy stuff?  Personally I question the creditably of the school.  Kenny I agree the school should pay for a new tractor.
