It should be a slam dunk to get a replacement drive belt for my '69 Jacobsen Chief 1000 model #53077, but it hasn't been.  A $54 Gates 6977 wouldn't work.  No matter what I tried the transmission (Manual not automatic) would not disengage.  Has anyone replaced this belt and kept the part number for reference?

Internet searches haven't been fruitful.

yea, I went through that  I think I have a A75 NAPA belt on 2 Ford 100s that I have which where built by Jacobsen and painted blue.

I do remember  it takes a narrow belt, the wide one does not go down in the pulley enough to release. The NAPA guy was very helpful in helping me find what I needed.

The Gates 6977 is .66 wide, so probably too wide for the pulleys!
