I never had the privilege of knowing Dale Staggs, but from what I can tell I missed meeting a true gentleman and one of the best of a dying breed.  His legacy of knowledge and experience is not just in the garden tractor world, but I think even greater as many of the members here had a chance to hopefully take a little of his wisdom.

I will be praying for Mrs. Staggs and the rest of the family.

Ben W.

Cheryl just called and the visitation will be Saturday May 4th, from 5 to 8 pm at Powell Funeral Home (address in my first post). The funeral will be Sunday May 5th at 2 pm at New Bethel Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers if you possibly can please send a donation to the family. If you me message me I will gladly send you the address.

Cheryl said that shortly she will be turning off Dale's phone. If you would like to contact her just message me and I will give you her number.

I know that you posted about donations to the family Bob, and I will do that but I also just ordered online a funeral arrangement for Dale's viewing and funeral. I had the card signed Friends and Members at GTTalk.com. I only got to talk to Dale one time on the phone. It was way back on March 19th. I mentioned about my recipe for green tomato pie that tasted like apple pie.Dale had posted about what to do with green tomatoes in the fall. I replied about my neighbor's solution and the recipe. Dale was the first to reply that he tried it and liked it . Talking with Dale that night was like talking with an old friend that I had known for years. Rest In Peace my friend.

I send my deepest sympathies to his family and all of his friends.  His passing reminds me how many good people we meet through  the simple love of our machinery and life, yet never get to meet in person.  Rest in peace Dale and comfort to his closest ones.

It's funny you mentioned that Sparky. I was thinking of a song as well. Vince Gill's - "Go rest high on that Mountain".
