I regret to inform everyone that Dale Staggs (AKA dstaggs) passed away yesterday at 4:19 pm from cancer which he had been bravely fighting for a while now. His wife Cheryl called me this morning to let me know. Dale really was one of the good guys. He was a good friend to a lot of us here on GTTalk. He will truly be missed. I had the pleasure of speaking with Dale at least once a week for a couple years now. I do regret never meeting him in person but as we lived so far apart we just couldn't make it work. They are going today to set up his viewing and funeral arrangements and I will let everyone know. As of right now they are thinking his viewing will be tomorrow May 4th and funeral will be Sunday May 5th. They will be held at:

Powell Funeral Home

1272 Highway 367 North

Bald Knob, AR 72010

501-724-3201

I did ask Cheryl if they wanted donations or flowers and she replied, let everyone decide on their own. I did know by talking to Dale every week that his chemo medicine was costing them thousands per month. So I am going to make a donation to the family. If anyone would like to make a donation to them just message me and I will give you their address.

FYI, this is Lynn, Bob's wife, as he just couldn't post this.

Thanks Lynn for posting this and tell Bob I understand what he is going thru, it's tough here too.

I know from talking to Dale over the past weeks, he would want us to be happy for him that he isn't suffering anymore and has made the trip home to be with the LORD !!

I will try to stay happy for him, but it's hard because I know what he left behind and his Son and Wife will miss Dale dearly.

I am going to post an announcement to this thread for Dale !!

REST IN PEACE My FRIEND, We will ALL miss you around here !!

Man, I sure hate to hear it, but I am glad he isn't suffering.  Now his Family will continue to suffer as they mourn his passing on.  I just mailed another card to Dale Monday.  Now I have to mail another to his Family.

We'll miss you Dale, but we'll meet again!

I was just thinking about Dale yesterday and was wondering how things were going for him, but I guess I should have been praying instead. Even though the tears are running down my cheeks, my heart rejoices as he will no longer be in pain and suffering. Dale will be deeply missed, and I'll cherish the times that we were able to talk forever. My heart cries out for Cheryl and the family, as I know the road ahead won't be easy and smooth. We can pray and ask for comfort, but the loss and pain will always remain. May we all take a moment to reflect back on Dale's memory and the times that he spent here with us, and somehow be able to apply a little bit of Dale in our lives. He was a great man, a friend that was always there when you needed him, and a brother who was always willing to help out.

Rest in peace Dale, and rejoice in the fact that the pain is gone, and you won't have to suffer anymore. I will talk to you again my Friend, but when that time comes, it won't be through the computer or on the phone. It will be face to face, and there will be so much to catch up on! God Bless Dale!

Troy

Cheryl just called and the visitation will be Saturday May 4th, from 5 to 8 pm at Powell Funeral Home (address in my first post). The funeral will be Sunday May 5th at 2 pm at New Bethel Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers if you possibly can please send a donation to the family. If you me message me I will gladly send you the address.

Cheryl said that shortly she will be turning off Dale's phone. If you would like to contact her just message me and I will give you her number.

As I sit here and read all the testimonials to Dale I sure wish I had met or at the very least talked to him in chat or via PMs or email. A person who has meant so much to many people he never met is a person who would be a special friend to have. My heart goes out to his Family and his GT Talk Family. A wonderful Man, Husband, Father, Son and VERY GOOD FRIEND. Someone I would like to of met. May God Bless Him and Hold Him, May God Bless His Family and Friends. Prayers for his family and all of you here whose hearts are heavy from Dales passing. MGBYA .

Roger.

I'm like you.  I've never had any contact with Dale but it still kind of hits you, ya know?  He's one of our own and now he's gone.  I can tell by reading through this thread that I really missed out on knowing a great guy.  May he rest in peace and may God comfort the family.

Rest peacefully Dale Staggs.  Hopefully, knowing he no longer suffers, will comfort his wife and family a bit.
