I bought a snowblower for my MF7 and it had a belt on it that was in okay shape but, since I really don't want to have to replace a belt mid season, I bought a new one. It's a 48X920 Dayco belt that seems WAY too long. I saw a post by olcowhand that the 720 blower takes a MF#1037585M1 belt. I typed that in to search and I found a site that said it's a .531 X 54..27in Outside Circumference. My belt is a 48" belt. Something doesn't fit. I'd like to know how to route the belt and if I need to buy the different length belt? Thanks for any info!!!

The belt that come with your snowblower is it the right size?
There are 2 different styles of snowblowers for the MF7+8, one the belt comes off the crank and goes forward, the other hooks up underneath where the mower belt does.

I didn't know that. I'll bet I have the side driven model tractor as I have an extra belt pulley that isn't being used off the crank. I'm bummed. Now I'll need to look for one that's crank driven. Thanks for the input. At least now I know.
