Looks like a Tube frame Bolens 1453 or G14.They're a tough old GT that will do alot of work.

Manual is here.http://gardentractor...olens-1453-g14/

Talked with the seller. He didn't know much. It is tube framed. He thinks it's got a 10 or 12hp Tecumseh but isn't for sure. Deck is in great shape

Its one of the G series... probably a G 12 since it dosent have the locking differential.

I'm trading my sears for it tomorrow. The guys says it has something fall out in the rear end. The po fixed it but traded it to this guy before adding fluids. The current owner needs a mower and already has a cub project tractor. It's non running but compete. I'm taking a gamble and hopefully it fires up easily.

I'm still leaning more towards it being a G14.The G12 doesn't have that hood scoop.Only the G14 H14 and H16 had that scoop to clear the valve cover of the OH140 and OH160.It also Does have Dif lock look at the left axle in the pic :)  The right side has the Free Wheel pin and just a nut to keep the hub on.Wish there was a Pic of the other side and 1 with the hood up.

Either way G12 or G14 They are great tractors.Looks like it had a leaky axle seal on the left side.If it starts I would get it.Transaxles are a dime a dozen.

I'm 48 % scared to do the trade. This guy seems a little slow. He traded for this tractor just because he hasn't seen one before. He doesn't appear to have much mechanical background. It was parked because a " cotter key came loose in the rear end". That was fixed but they couldn't they couldn't find a gasket so the rear wouldn't hold fluid. It's missing the breather and fly wheel shroud.

I think I'll take jumper cables and a battery... Maybe a few tools. It may fire right up.

I think my best bet would be to part this out. Decisions decisions...
