What do you guys think? I am not going to do this (right now) but I wanted to give the idea to some others!

It would be better than nothing but those things are pretty small.

For what they are asking, you can buy lumber to build a shed that size cheaper.

Ryan, what size is it? I googled HF green houses and got two. Neither one looked better than the portable garages I've seen around.

I just looked at the one for $599. It's 10X12. You would have to either sink it on the ground or build a floor to get a tractor into it. Not sure if the panels would last very long if painted. And I am sure the framework wouldn't handle much weight added onto it. But it would be good for parts storage!

600 $$$$$????? I'm building a shed 8x12, 8ft tall before roof, for under 400, not including shingles. Buying everything from a local sawmill, except for the 3/4 plywood.

I had a coworker buy one of their cheap greenhouses to use as a hot house for starting veggies. He said the first 40 mph wind turned it into big a big pretzel of scrap metal. He had it anchored to ground even.

Painting the panels are a no-no for many reasons. The heat build-up in a green house with-out proper ventilation would make it a oven, so storage of things could be a concern, never mind trying to work in one.

I may be looking for a portable garage as well and my initial thought is that it would be more expensive to make a greenhouse than a shelter of the same size. You could always try to make a hoop house out of pvc conduit and cover it with tarps or plastic if you really wanted something cheap. That's what many gardeners do to make a dIY greenhouse.

Ryan: Google "Quick Hoops". I think the bender runs around $60 and uses the tubing to make Chain Link Fence.
A strong energetic young man like you could probably sell enough hoops to make the shelters you want free. And you might even make some money to boot.

I thought that it would have cost more to build a wooden shed! I also thought that the greenhouse would be stronger then what you guys are telling me. Oh well, it was just an idea.
