Checked the stator output yet?  28VAC tested between the 2 stator wires.  Likely the regulator.

I think I am going to pull the reg off the 18/6 to see, but I agree that's what it sounds like as there is 28vac on the black wires.

Got a chance to do a little work on this to find out why the charging wasnt working.

I stole the regulator off the 18/6 and it still wouldn't work. Took the harness apart, still nothing.

Tried a reg out of a Massey, still nothing.

The clue I ignored and shouldn't have as the fact that there was no voltage on the red (B+) wire at the regulator, key on & engine off. If there isn't voltage there, there is a very good chance the switch is bad. That was the resolution for me.

I used to own a GT18, and it was a very strong tractor.  You gotta love the sound of an Onan twin running good.....Nice tractor, sir.  You will like that one!

Well I start off at home, the Dad comes in and says "Ryan, what the game plan is for today is that we're going to your sister's softball game, then we're going to go up to the farmstead and work." And of course i'm tired from school, so I whine, but we still end up going up anyways...
We go up to the farm and he says that he wants me to mow Grandpa's grass at 8:00 PM... With the 19.9
There's no arguing with that ( :smilewink: ) so, I begin to mow. Here comes Dad with a camera in his hands & with his eye to the view finder, and then something clicks in my head. "Oh! that's why he wanted me to mow with his 19.9!"
This mower is very smooth, and I think my mower of choice just went from a newish, spiffy, shiny Craftsman, to a old Sears. One almost bad bearing to change & I think I have found a new mower for the summer! :D

Great job tonight Bud.  Proud of you for adjusting technique to keep the wheels not spinning on the grass as the dew got on.

You might be trainable yet. :poke:

Ryan, you beginning to figure out the method of his madness! And he's right, "You might be trainable yet!" Good job. If he takes enough vids of you running the tractors, ask for a star for you bedroom door!
