I have the chance to buy this 717 look to be in good shape and I know the motor is not seized and it does come with a deck and snowblower it has been outside uncovered but looks good overall. The guy wants 200. Is this a good price Anything I should look for? Or be aware of?

If its complete and motor is loose and looks decent, without pics, sounds like a good deal to me. Do check the usual stuff(tranny shifting, inside gas tank, tires etc...)

It does need new tires and I did notice the rear diff to be leaking

What is the center pivot?

The tractor pivots in the center, like the A-C tractor below. It has no pivoting front axle.

You might also want to look at the holes in the rear wheels/hubs where they get pinned to the axles.  The holes get wallowed out bad which makes the pins wear quicker.  Eventually the pins snap allowing the axle to just spin in the hub and you lose drive.  Ask me how I know.  :wallbanging:
