Foot pedal all the way! I don't care for hand control at all after getting a few foot pedal hydro's.

Foot control for sure. Like keeping my hands free as possible.

As some of you know I am working on an Electric Massey GT conversion and wanted to know what most people prefer hand or foot control. This is not a hydrostatic tractor but it will have a motor controller that controls motor speed and power. I was at a tossup between the 2.
So since most of you prefer foot control that's what I have ordered (foot pedal potbox) with the new controller for my custom tractor.
Thanks for your input.

I voted foot pedal but have both and like both. I like the foot pedal a little more because it leaves both hands for steering and/or other things like holding the camera or operating a manual lift.

I prefer the separate forward / reverse pedals though.

Foot pedal for me.Always found it hard to get the third hand to steer when i'm going foward and running the plow at the same time.

I like hand control for small changes in speed when garden tilling. My ankles hurt if I have to hold a
pedal in a weird position for any length of time.

I prefer a foot control, leaving one hand for the hydraulics and one for steering. My 420 has a hand control though, and I don't mind it.

Having learned tractor driving/FEL operation on an old green Deutz, I'm just happy not to need both feet and four hands anymore.

Foot control, without a doubt!

My '03 Craftsman LT2000 has foot controled hydro - 2 pedals - and I absolutely love it. I'm working on my '73 990 right now to convert it to foot control, and then I'll change over the '82. As stated by others, it's too difficult to operate the F-N-R by hand and try to operate any other attachments plus steer.

I also prefer foot control. Now if I was on a big tractor doing field work, I would want both or, hand control.

Since I only have had 1 tractor that is hydrostatic, I went with the foot controls. I really like the Ford w/ 2 pedal setup, though the large self-centering spring makes it a bit harder to go in reverse.

Foot control for yard and loader work without a doubt. But for gardening I do prefer the hand control as you can set the ground speed and leave it.
