Isn't that a WH Pony? I'm not a WH person but I thought I saw one a long time ago. JM2CW. Looks neat though! Good luck. Roger.

That is a early to mid 60's Lawn Ranger and they are a collectible little WH.. I am trying to remember where the ID tag is. What engine does it have on it?

I think you got a good deal especially for Canada where GT prices are high. I am pretty sure I would have given $150 for it.

Here's a few photos of the early ones like yours. You can tell it's an early one by the round fenders and not having a fender/seat pan.

thanks for info and encouraging words , everything the seller told me was wrong wrong wrong even the price, if i had driven 2-3 hour to get it this email would be from jail, i wish people would know what they are selling, the only problem is you have to go look when they tell you stuff like 1949, pond ,nut roaster, they may know what their selling and you miss out thinking it cant be true, well i'm always looking for gold and finding copper and rust

This is part of the hobby. Looking for old unique rusty gold isnt easy. Otherwise everybody would do it...

On most every Lawn Ranger the H60 Tecumseh has long ago self destructed so you have tons of potential there.  Fix it up, play with it, you'll really start to like it.

I'd love to have one of those. I wouldn't bat an eye at that deal but it does suck to not find what was described.

That's a nice collectable tractor and should be an easy restoration. As said above it's a good deal at 150. We tend to pay much more for tractors in Canada then they do south of the border.

Around here the Ranger is the least desireable and for $150, it should have had a deck.

I would say it was a good deal, mainly because the motor is worth what you paid for the entire tractor..

I had a girl friend like that once " tiny thing with a big rear end."......
