A couple of 23x10-12 Carlisle AT489 Titans and 55lb wheel weights.  overkill?  i hope so.

Good tires and more weight on them does make a difference with the light rear end on the Craftsman GT5000 and GT6000s.

As to your overkill, not at all overkill. My GT6000 has 26x10.50-12 Titan Mud Monster tires with 100 pounds of weight on each rear wheel. Few days ago I threw another 40 pounds on the left side to help with plowing traction this weekend. I can't get to any of my previous pic uploads from my iPad, so I will have to go find one of them and copy it over here in next post.

That is the same tire I have been looking at, at the local farm store. Unfotunately the tires on both of my GT's are good enough I have not been abe to justify the switch yet.

:worship:  :worship:

And now we need video of the tires performing their designated task of moving the tractor around in variable terrain!

:bigrofl:  :bigrofl:

The Titan 489's are some tough, long lasting tires.  Have them on all 4 wheels of our Honda 450 fourtrax.

so now it's time to put the weights on and then i can mow down the canyon.  ...what did i get myself INTO?   :anvil_drop:

btw, i'll be offing these turf-savers - message me if anyone can use them!

got the weights on.  what a difference!   i had to test them by driving into a canyon ('cuz i'm stupid) that i drove in before the weights and new tires and had to winch my way out.  this time?  effortless!  i think i'm done spendin' money now.

btw, these are the 55# weights and were a bit of a bear to install, but observe if you can:

it's hard to see, but i used a brick as a 'platform' to assist in the install - worked super.
