I got the new engine in and it runs!!!! now just to get electrical figured out...

Sounds like you have her running decent. I ended up just doing a quick overhaul on mine, valves looked good, cylinder was within spec for 20 thousands overbore as indicated by the stamping on the piston.  I am convinced they put std size rings in the last time this was done.  The ring end gap was darn near 1/16th of an inch!!  New rings are within spec.  Rest of block was super clean on the inside.  Now she runs good with no smoke screen as you mow along.  In time I do plan to put a diesel in her, just not in the family budget right now.   I picked up a rear sleeve hitch and rear lift assembly, along with a nice tiller at the spring Portland show.  I was never a huge fan of that body style Simplicities, but it does grow on you after awhile.  If you can make it to the summer Portland IN swap/show, there are always Simplicity parts there.  The spring and summer shows are the best.   Mike
