I plan to bring this home later in the week.

I had put a photo on here a few days ago and have been trying to learn more about it.The model # on the tag is 52051A. Whatever was on the hood sides is no longer legible.I wonder if it could be a YT11?The decals on the lower side panels read "SYNCROBALANCED 11 HP"  Anybody have one like it?Thanks.

Actually what you have there thom is a Gilson. I would say 80's to early 90's maybe?

I checked the engine numbers and found it to be a 1978 model.

I paid $30 for it. I found a rear wheel and tire to replace the missing one. I also found a pair of GE headlamps . The plan is to get it running and maybe cut some grass with it before doing any cosmetics.

I put the headlights in after I gave the tractor a quick wash. I caught myself humming the old song "I can see clearly now" by Johnny Nash.Looking at the photo , the grill appears to be missing. It's not. The grill is a wire mesh.

This evening I found out that it runs and the headlights burn! The fire was very weak so I removed the flywheel and cleaned the points. Now the spark is good. I had no gas on hand except for a few drops remaining in my can , but when I put  a little in the carb it started and ran for a few seconds several times.Tomorrow I will put gas in the tank and ride!

I  rode my two grandsons, one at a time, on it yesterday. They sat on papa's knee and rode. They are 3 and 5 and are my son's boys. We loved it.
