The last few days we have gotten pretty far in cleaning out Neighbor Tessie's barn. There where quite a few things that I ended up saving from scrap, a couple other guys who have been helping took some stuff also.

Valve spring compressor.

I took this sign to hang in the basement.

Lawn roller, it is homemade; a lot of the welds that hold the end caps to the round part are broken, I will have to reweld them.

Here is the economy tow behind mower, and a tamper. I also took a scroll saw that I am going to let my uncle have, and two sickles for my aunt.

There where quite a few small engines, most where seized/ blown and already stripped to nothing. Some where spoken for before I could claim them, but I did get a model 23 Briggs (missing carb), and some small briggs with a water pump on it. I also picked out two gas tanks.

I also ended up with a set of regulators, a torch body, heating tip, welding tip, and some hose. I want to have the regulators and torch heads rebuilt since they are higher quality then the ones I use now.

I am sure I will end up with more stuff, I will update this thread accordingly.

Good for you Ryan.  You and the others will get some use out of those items and save them from the scrap pile.

Thanks everybody! I am glad I was able to save some stuff, but I can only take so much. Not because they wont let me, but there is only so much I have room and time for. All I could do was take the best stuff I could (that was not already claimed) and hope the other guys wanted what I could not take. It is very unfortunate that some of the stuff which went to scrap, went to scrap. :boo_hoo:

We where in there again today, and today I only had one other guy to compete with. I was able to get a lot of good stuff! Another set of regulators, torch body and cutting head with two new tips, files, two ratchet sets, clevises, lots of battery terminals, floor jack, two bench vises, and a machinist vise. Plus, quite a bit of other stuff that is getting away from me right now. I have the garage torn apart and I can barley walk around As I unload the trailer (once the garage is back together) I will take more pictures.

Seems you have the same problem I do on those clean out jobs. I wind up keeping more than I scrap.

I created another album, and now I am not able to edit my posts to fix the links. I will get them back up when the problem is solved.

I finally got a chance to put everything away, been very busy.

A machinist vise, and two bench vises. The one vise is mounted to the bench, I had that one already.

88376BFC-38B3-4967-9FDA-A12C393F8AA7-264

Electric impact, jig saw, torch body and cutting head, oxy-acetylene regulators, 1/2 steel plate, two 2" micrometers, and a BRAND NEW hydraulic pump!

24C6526E-7898-4D65-8CD4-95CE5EA9EC25-264

A case of grease (box was moldy, threw it out), a few clevises, a hook, lots of battery terminals, a set of files, and two new tips for the cutting torch in the picture above.

84CB573A-3CCB-46BF-9100-B6F9429A39C6-264

A metal bucket, a fork, and a grease gun. The fork has a funny story; yesterday I still had all of the stuff in my trailer sitting by the garage, ready for when I had time to unload it. Neighbor Herby stopped by and looked at the stuff I had gotten, he let out a big laugh and picked up the fork. He said that Bob (Tessie's husband) had borrowed it and unfortunately Bob passed away (1988) before he could return it. I could not help but be amused that it actually belonged to him, he told me to keep it since he does not work on cars anymore.

Last but not least, a floor jack.
