seen a 318 at the scrap yard today that was complete . hood was busted up but engine had compression on both cylinders by just turning the flywheel had wheel weights good tires . i ask what it would take to get it out of there and it will cost .36 cents a pound bout $360.00 . still thinkin bout it .

Well, im not a john deere fan but my dad is and if my dad seen that deal it would be home with us right know.

If all else fails, you could probably get $300 by parting out the hydraulic system alone.  I say go for it.

i was just on ebay and i can get my money back easy enough just dont know anything about the tranny and hydro pump thats what has me worried . dont want to sell someone junk .

those tractors weigh 1,000 lbs?  I think your estimate on weight is high unless the tires are filled with concrete or lead

The wheel weights are worth $150 - 175.00 a pair alone.

tractor 836 + wheel weights 75 lbs x 2 = 986 x .36 cents = $ 354.96 . seems pretty damn close to me .

I would say go for it too. Like the other guys said, if worse comes to worse you can part it out and get your money back.
