I am looking at a older new holland skid steer. I know this is not a gt. But my question is it has a lycoming air cooled engine in it. Does anyone have any experiance with them? It looks alot like a wisconin. Thank you.

I know Lycoming made a lot of aircraft engines over the years and from what little I know about them [my brother is a pilot] it would definately be cost prohibitive to rebuild or repair if the engine ever needed any internal repairs.

Older skidsteers are really great machines if you can get one reasonably.

If it was mine, I'd consider swapping the Lycoming with a more common engine: you could probably pay for the switch by selling the Lycoming to a collector or rebuilder.
