CNN.com just updated 15 minutes ago.  Here are excerpts from their report:

The blasts threw people to the ground, killing two and injuring dozens. One of the dead was an 8-year-old boy, according to a state law enforcement source.

Hospitals reported at least 141 people are being treated, with at least 17 of them in critical condition and 25 in serious condition. At least eight of the patients are children.

At least 10 people injured had limbs amputated, according to a terrorism expert briefed on the investigation.

Doctors are "pulling ball bearings out of people in the emergency room," the expert said, suggesting the bombs were designed to propel shrapnel.

There is no suspect in custody, but many people are being questioned, Davis said.

What news is saying this?

I think I read about it on MSN? Not sure. But the person isn't in custody. They are being guarded at the hospital, because this person was also injured in the blast. It is just a person of interest because they have a student visa. But whether the person is Saudi hasn't been confirmed yet. There is a ton....of speculation at this point.

Another CNN update:

Ed Davis said Monday night that the death toll had risen to three.

Also, a Saudi national with a leg wound was under guard at a Boston hospital in connection with the bombings, but investigators cannot say he is involved at this time and he is not in custody, a law enforcement official said Monday evening.

It was a typical tactic that I saw in Afghanistan.. Two blasts delayed from each other. Trying to inflict mass casualties. Whoever did it ought to be shot. They are like the ieds that were used early on in Iraq and the Stan. Small enough to not be noticed but deadly.

I figure with all the surveillance cameras on buildings, then the private camera's & cell cameras, they will be able to identify at least one if not more of the attackers.  Takes a little time, but my bet is they nail someone to the wall with hard/real evidence.

I'm all for using the rope. But as Newpaws it's a little early to pick the neck or necks. In the meantime prayers are going out to everyone in the line of fire.

Prior to this Horror, the last seven or more explosive devices detonated in our area were bottle bombs of varying strength

concocted by local 'tube teens', as well as other national killings and such. Homegrown evil can't be dismissed in these troubled times. IMHO.

Obama says that those responsible will receive justice.  HAH!!  Only if justice is an eye for an eye.  Bring back the death penalty.

This is true. My grandaughter was telling me over the weekend that warnings were going out all over about not picking up pop bottles.

Because kids were putting draino, aluminum foil and water in bottles and shaking them up would cause a violent boiling water explosion.

So don't go running over any plasic botles with your mower.
