I got a call from a friend on Friday asking me if I could pick up a new tractor he bought at Lowes. Bill told me they wanted $68 to deliver it. I told him that I would be glad to help. It's only about 5 miles from our place to Bill's home and only another 3 miles to Lowes. Bill told me on Friday that he would give us his old tractor. He said the local mower shop told him that replacement blades were no longer available. I googled the size and found some online. Even after I told him they should be available, he said that he still wanted a new tractor. Here are some pics of the tractor I brought home. It is sitting in some grass that I had just mowed with the tractor. It does a good job. As info as to the Caterpillar decal, Bill retired from Cat over 10 years ago.

Might be good trading! Or sell and use money to buy parts for your keepers!

Did he get the new Electric Hydro one we are hearing about???  Probly Not, but hope he got a Husquvarna (spl) or nicer model like that. This one looks like an MTD made unit.

You're a good guy to help out like that.

HOWEVER, I must say, I feel bad for your friend, getting rid of a good old mower for something modern.  :rolling:

Grand, good for you.

That machine has some similarities to the late 70'searly 80's LT's from Sears... Hmmm.

That looks like a really nice tractor!  Bill took excellent care of it, not even a crack in the seat!  You will enjoy that tractor Grand!

I should have asked Bill a little more about the Lawn Keeper, but we were busy talking about family and fishing. Bill hosts a canoe trip twice a year that I have gone to for about 15 years now. There are usually about 20 people in camp and with good weather we do a 5 mile float down the Juniata river. I called last night to get a little more info. Bill bought the Lawn Keeper in the mid 90's from Builders Square. They were similar to Lowes and Home Depot back in the day. When I googled their name I found that the chain went out of business in 1999. The Lawn Keepers must have been the store brand. There is a Lawn Keeper on E-Bay that the seller says was made by Roper. It is a rear engine rider that he wants $300 for. To answer one more question, it was a Husqvarna we picked up at Lowes.

Thanks, Grand! Bought lots of stuff from Builders Square. It's a nice looking mower. I like using my little MTD for getting into tight spots when mowing.

George, it's nice you got a bonus for being a good friend.  Are you going to use it or send it to a new home?  It looks like it is in really nice shape.

I had to go check Daniel before I could reply. Yes the dash is steel.
