I don't remember how old I was... I think in high school, but before I had a drivers license. I was mowing the lawn with the almost new SS14 Sears. I was almost done, when I ran out of gas. The can was empty, and I was home alone, so I decided to siphon a little gas out of my dads old Chevy pick-up. (one with the gas tank right behind the seat). So I stuck the hose in and started sucking. Did it a little too much and swallowed some gas. Didn't get sick but, let me tell you, I belched gasoline for three weeks! I was afraid to go any where near an open flame!!

I have done it too. Gas is some of the nastiest tasting stuff and it burns like hell. I love the smell of gas, especially when you are at the gas station pumping it. Although the only gas station anymore where I still like the smell of it is Hess. I love the smell of racing gas too. For how sweet smelling gas can be it sure does taste like crap LOL

Yeah it did sting a little going down. But mostly I just remember the awful taste and, like you said, I still do when I think about it. I bought a little hand pump after that incident... no more gas swallowing tricks for me!!

That's a whole new meaning to "pass the gas pipe"
