It says it has a Onan in it? They are made by Cummins? Are these good engines? I recently sold my zero turn and looking for a Rider. Does the 2150 have any problems?

The older onans are great motors. Very strong and durable. However im not sure about the newer onans especially the ones in these cubs? Never owned any of the newer ones (don't care for all the plastic in my opinion)

That's a Cub Cadet 2140 not a 2150.
The 2140 has a 14hp Single cylinder OHV Onan Elite 140
The 2150 has a 15hp Single Cylinder OHV Kohler Command
I know nothing about the reliability of the newer Onan OHV engines. But I see that they are made by Cummins Linamar and they are putting Generators with Cummins built Onan engines in alot of the newer Motor Homes.

if its built by cummins it has to be good. If only it was a diesel

The only negative comment I am reading on these motors is that the crank case gasket goes bad. I know it's a slight pain to pull the engine on these cubs but it's better than having to buy a new engine.

Nice looking engine. I wonder if those are the right dimensions to replace a Kohler K?

That's Alot of Deck for a little 14hp Engine. The GT1554 is a Vertical engine Mower I doubt that it will fit without some modifications. But I may be wrong.Any 2000 series deck will fit but I'm just not sure about the 1000 series.
If I were to get this tractor I think I would change out the Rims and tires.A set of 2000 series 23x9.50x12" rears and 16x6.50x8" front rims will bolt up with no problems.
Then you can get a set of 12" AGs for her lol

Too bad I already scrapped the rotted hulk of the Cubby I got for scrap. Sitting out in the elements with a buildup of leaves and depris on it was not good for it. I did keep the wheels so SearsYellow gets a cheap set.

It's greatly appreciated. I'm glad you posted pictures of the rotted hulk of a cubby.. If not I would never have called and asked.

Woo hoo!! I mowed with the Cub Cadet and blew the crankcase gasket. It's still drivable but it's down for the count until next Wednesday when I get the part from Cummings. The part cost 5.97 and 12 dollars to ship it. I don't mind the shipping because it would cost me more than 12 dollars in gas to go pick it up.

I had planned to goto Greensboro today to get my crankcase gasket and my O ring but cummins decided to ship it to me. It should be here tomorrow. I can't wait to get her running. Then all I will have left to do is level the deck and throw new blades on her and she should be ready to mow..
I think I am going to find a name for her.... Any suggestions?
