let me clear up that statement, NEVER LISTEN TO THE WIFE WHEN IT COMES TO GTS, i saw an ad about a wheelhorse 416-8 for $200 pics looked good, the guy calls and says first $200 get it, no holds, well my wife does not want me taking her car, she wants me to take the truck and a 20 ft trailer and bring it home, which would take me 20-30 min to hook up and ckeck the tire pressure. well i jump in her car and drive, a little over the speed limit, On the way I happen to notice a new dodge truck with a red door and a trailer on the highway, pass him get to the guys house , i havent even seen the wheel horse hand him $200 just as a dodge truck with a red door pulls into his driveway, i will be going back today to pick it up, and post pics asap, poor guy had drove 100 miles (me 40) only to lose out by 2 minutes

You should have a big enough truck and it should be ready to go at all times! BE PREPARED! Good Luck, Rick

I was talking to the  The m an who owned one of these new electric heaters everyone is talking about The wife all but had her hands on it and a man steppeds up and took it right out from under us . The wife was mad but she itsn't one to cause a scene.

Money talks I guess. Some folks will treat people fairly on a first to call has first chance to buy basis and some just take the first money that shows up. The only reason I got my 317 is because the seller held off all the other callers because I was first to call. Took me a while to get there but I really appreciated him keeping it for me. They are hard to get up here. I've lost out on several because of being too far away to get there first.

When they list it first money gets it, it usually is a foot race.

I called on an item that was about 30 minutes from me.  It was not a had to have for me, but a good deal.  When I called the guy said someone else was coming from much further away, but would be there before me and he really wanted it.  I stayed home.  I don't know if the guy came or not.

I'm glad you prevailed and will get it tomorrow.  Of course you will need to have photographs.

I did the same thing to a poor chap back in the 90's when I spotted a 1970 Ford Torino GT convertible in the classified section of the paper.  The man selling it did me a huge favor as I was at work and he held it until I could get there as I was the first one who called.  The 2nd caller was at the end of the driveway when I got there..  I didn't haggle or anything..  Put the $$ down and the rest is history!

I just sold me Homelite today, and it was sold to the 2nd person who called, the first only wanted a few implements. I'd rather the package stay together. Now I have to call or email back about 6 or 7 folk back that were waiting in line. 10 inquiries in 3 days tells me I sold too cheap... :rolling:

Congrats on the horse, looking forward to pics.

I lost out on a Sears suburban like that this weekend. Guy sold it 20 minutes before I got there. Oh well.

I stopped at a yard sale Saturday and the guy had a little gas cooker. I bought it and was waiting for the wife to show up to put it on her truck since I didn't was a bottle of propane in my Suburban,  then about 15 people came up to him wanting it. I had to pull it back behind some bushes to take the pressure off.
