Trying to resurrect a 110 for actual work, i.e. NOT a restoration/parade queen. Having a devil of a time figuring out the drive system.  First question, is the variator spring larger, or smaller than the secondary belt tensioner spring? (my variator spring was missing)

Next, anyone have part numbers for the primary and secondary belts? Any leads on best places to order these, or is it an in stock deal at the JD store?

I do have the JD manual, and so far it has been helpful, but I am sure someone with experience can do a better job of explaining this system to me.

Hood is busted up, but complete, grille, and upper light panel is MIA. Probably bend up a piece of steel or just pop rivet a mesh screen  to keep the big stuff off the motor.

Couple on Ebay now, but which is which? Is the variator spring the big one, or is the tensioner spring for the secondary belt the big one?

Can't help on the spring, but the belts you will want to get at the JD dealer. JD uses a special angle belt that you can't buy from the local supply house. Good Luck..

yes the larger diameter spring is for the variator $(KGrHqR,!igE5hBiV4WcBOdMbpzJm!~~_1.JPG

I check e-bay and I did not see the variator spring there.

I can not sure the 110 and the 200 series are the same - will have to check mine

I check JD parts and both the 100 flat fence series and 200 series use the same part M45274

the round fence 100s use a different one

but see if you have somebody close to see on craigslist that sell parts from old GT that they take apart and sell

I have s few around here that sell on craigslist

you can make a post in the wanted section here on gardentractortalk

good luck - you will find one
