I have a Pearless 3 spd hi/lo transaxle from a Sears SS 14 (I think) that looks like would work on my Craftsman. I plan to split it open to see if it is worth salage or parts. I removed the pullies, axle hubs, shifter, and all the case bolts around the middle. So far. Any other things I need to be aware of before I take the rubber mallett to it?
1. Water, no oil came out, (lite brown sludge can be seen inside.
2. shifter lever twists about 60 degrees (this will need fixed)
3. Axle seals are shot, and will need replaced.
