I just bought another deck for my 314 . I don"t know what the model no is but the serial no is M00596X54 . My question is what is the model no . and what is the approx 2" hole in the top of deck behind drive pulley to the right back for? I can"t do pic's right now.

Found this with a bit of searching but do not consider it definitive. 

 

What is your model number on your 46"?
Model number M00595X was year made 83 - 84.
Model number M00596X was year made 85 - 91.

I cannot get to the 314 deck right now to see what the model number is.

 

Found this too:

Andrew - There are several to choose from. All of which are no longer available as new complete decks. They are:

38" with model numbers M00663X, M00664X, M00665X, and M0038DF.

46" with model numbers M00595X or M00596X.

50" with model numbers M01011X or M01013X.

Ok Thanks guys on the imformation on model . I just can't seem to pull it up on jd parts .Now I still would like to know about the hole.

By the way I'm junking out my old H048E , rust holes spindle patches cracks , shell only FREE shell only

I will get mine out tomorrow and remove the cover.  Never did seed one like that before.

Travis that is just my old deck that the trash man just hauled off after I stripped it . Rust Cracks Holes to much to repair . I wish I had some belt covers like yours though .
