Check this out. I stumbled upon it after I discovered my father had written down the serial # for my GT12. The page works for many pre-'75 Jacobsen products. Here's the link:

http://hmfind.com/JA...mberFinder.aspx

Just choose your equipment, enter the model number, and then the "item" number.

In my case, GT garden tractor, then 53215, and lastly 9374. This confirmed that my tractor is in fact a 1973 model, in keeping with the 1973 date code on the Kohler engine.

Hope this helps a few people...

Wow that is a great site and tool! I have to do a little checking now. I just entered in one of my Jacobsen's. I thought it was a 1969.

But It listed my Model number, I entered my serial number and it came up as a 1968 Chief tractor heavy duty. I checked the Kohler K301 awhile ago and it shows as a 1969, But it is possible the Tractor was made at the end of the year?

Anyway Thanks again for the link!!! This will help many people out
