Hey Guys,

Has anyone ever rebuilt either the deck hyd. cyl. or the 3pt. hitch cyl? I am currently hoping to rebuild the deck cyl, they look very similar in construction. I see in the parts manual you can purchase a seals and parts to rebuild it...but over the weekend I was having a terrible time trying to dissasemble the unit. Needless to say, I did not get it a-part mostly due to the fact of thinking I would damage the unit to "no repair".:confuse:

To me it looks like the components drop out from oppisite the rod end but I am not sure how... Does anyone know if the cap is pressed in or maybe threaded??

Thanks
Steve

The fitting screws into the plug cap. Take the mounting pin out, then the fitting....nothing holding it in now but friction. Unscrew the fitting off the rod end, then using the rod, push it all out the other end. Before pushing things out, push the cap a bit further in so you can take a dremel with stone to remove the burrs around the mount pin holes that form from the load on the holes edges.
Before putting new parts back in, use fine emery cloth to chamfer the hole edges & also polish them a bit to allow smooth passage of the seals.
