I have a H16 with the HH 160. It idles really rough but if I throttle it up it sounds really good and smooth. Any ideas?

:welcometogttalk:  1st thing comes to mind is having that carb dialed in right. I'm no expert but I'd start with specs/setting and outrule that as an issue. Pretty sure better info and help is on the way once guys check in.

Good luck, hopefully it'll be an easy fix

Welcome to the forum! I don't know the HH 160, but maybe the float is set just a little too high?

My experience is generally, the OHV Tecumseh engines idle poorly.  You can follow any number of leads to fix it, but in my opinion, as long as it runs at idle (no matter how roughly), just get over it

:ditto:

I'd say 90% of the tecumseh engines I"ve used never idled real smooth, even after making many adjustments
