It has been a while since a topic of real curiosity seemed to be a   " go fer it "  in  Dale Staggs  lingo .

 

Anyway the  running time of Elec-Trak '  s  might be guessed at by assuming the factory batteries 

 

were good for 300 hrs or more if maintained properly .  Not all E-T ' s  were used heavily .  30,000

 

or so were actually sold   ( GE and NI ) .

 

                       So  my proposition is that since E-T usage and wear could be gauged by burnt wiring

 

and corroded batt boxes  plus other factors ,  I will guess that about a third of the total were pushed

 

hard , a third were used more lightly and the last put out to pasture gently .

 

                       A round figure running time could be guessed at ,  and I have mine .  Thanks to Dale

 

     for a    " go for it " moment .
