There was a opening at the local john Deere dealer for a L and G mechanic. I'll find out today if I get the job. It's 20 miles closer to the house than my current shop and it's more money plus benefits. How awesome would out be to work on mowers and such every day. My lack of weed eater and chain saw experience might hurt me.

A willingness to learn and a bit of natural talent would make you a pick in my book. Guys that "know everything" and have nothing else to learn give me the willies. Here's to good new.

Hope you get the job. That hidden paycheck of benifits is a big thing nowdays. The fact of it being closer to home is also a big benifit. GOOD LUCK!

Hope it works out for you!!  Shorter commute and benefits are a great thing, and a job working on "stuff" you like is great too.

I hope you get the job: I think if they don't pick you they're missing something.

Besides, you might get employee discount on parts, which means you could start collecting Deeres and "restore for less."
