i found a really nice looking 1000 out in columbus oh for 150 buck i been wanting to restore the one i got but its been sitting on a mountain in pa for 20+ years everything is rusted but i pay 35 bucks for it so it has a good engine so thats worth 35.00. so antway i was shoping on CL witch i need to stop doing or im going to be broke and there was a ad for a 1050, so i clicked it and sure enough its a really nice bolens 1000 so today dave form member and friend Oldbuzzard is going to go get it for me and hold it until we can catch up.. i got a pic but OB will most likely add some better ones... i keep telling myself no more tractors, im on the hunt for rare attachments but ya know i could'nt let it go for 150+ what i will owe dave for gas.. i got to go see the doctor i have bolens fever lol... i need the original throttle and choke leavers is anyone has any. i have some on my other 1000 but i dont kn;ow if there toast or not

Congrats!

That is one of the Better looking original 1000's I have seen!

The Seat looks like it was swapped at some point but looks to have been done the right way and appears to be on its original Hinge atleast.

Don't you worry, if you  suddenly find too many round hoods in your stable some of us would be glad to adopt the strays.. :D  Thanks OB!

Ever helpful.

yea i dont know why you never see them with the original seat. there was a 1000 on CL about a year ago it was rough but had the right seat but he wanted like 5 or 600 for it.. im not paying 600 for a rough (TF) with just a deck now if it had a flail mower or something rare then yes but he just thought he had a gold mine i guess.. this 1000 does not have any attachments, it needs the carb cleaned and the clutch disc some how came off the pulley but i have a n.o.s clutch in the garage so no biggie

I hear you on the Craigslist shopping.

Money in the pocket plus Craigslist equals trouble.  But each one was a deal I could pass up!

Looks like this Bolens is a good buy, though.
