Hello everyone,

First of all, thank you for having a site that offers a chance to share knowledge and experience regarding these machines.

I just purchased what i believe to be a 1974 JD 112 electric lift with the 476cc horizontal pto shaft to restore and use and have a question.

1) How does the horizontal shaft connect to the mower deck? I have searched many sites and cannot find any pics of how this transition is made. I have found several pics of how this pulley will work with the front snow blower but not the mower deck. Could someone please send pics or just some info that could assist me?

Thank you in advance for your time.

I'm going to suggest going to jdparts.com and put your model numbr where requested on the L. side and do a alph. serarch.

Welcome to GTTalk and enjoy yourself and don't be ashamed to ask if you don't know, we all don't know everything but some think they do.

Cat,

Thanks to all. That is exactly what I was looking for! Looking forward to bringing this project back to life quickly. The tractor came with 47 deck and the front snow plow and as I learn more about it, it seems I can add several attachments. My stepson is going to love his tractor. He went off the charts when we were unloading it from the truck and now we will be spending some time puting the deck back under it. Anyone have any favorite sites for finding used parts?

Craigslist is my favorite haunt for finding attachments. Since you have the 47 deck and the 43 plow already, you can look for a rear integral hitch if you want to have some rear garden implements, or the 31 tiller if you plan on a garden. The early 37 and 37a snowblowers do a good job, imo. Matched with the variator, I found my 212 to be very comparable to having a hydro for snowblowing duties.

Good luck with your new tractor.
