Well I am going tomorrow after work to look at a Case 222. I'm going to try my hardest to hold in the excitement when I get there. I have always wanted a Case tractor. Heck, I've already planned 3 projects for it and don't even have the tractor yet. So my question is: what do I need to look for? I know the kohler engines well but that's pretty much it on a Case. Anything specific to the Case tractors I need to pay attention to? The guy told me over the phone he has multiple Case and Ingersoll tractors, big and small wheel. He said when I get there, he will take me back to his barn/shop to check and see everything else he is willing to sell. He had 20 Case/Ingersoll's at one time. No wonder they're rare around here. He has them all! Thanks in advance and wish me luck!

Good luck Eric!  I hope you can get it, and maybe find a few other treasures, and hopefully make a new friend.

Same as your jd's oil leaks. How smooth travel control engages. listen for noises in rear end when driving at steady speed . Chatter when slowing down fast is normal.Remember the foot brake is parking brake the hand control is what use to slow down and such.Take camera for pictures of whats for sale. These are some fine tractors.

Good luck with the Case , I've never owned one but the thought of having a machine with the hyd GPM that they have might open up some  attachments that I couldn't do on my Gts without extra  add on pump

Alc, that's exactly why I want to get one. I'll have a log splitter running off this in my near future. I'm sure I can think of some other things. The Case tractor is just the center of it all. At least I hope.

Well I just bought an Onan twin 226 with blower and 44 deck and a kohler 222 for 900. You guys think I did ok? The 226 needs nothing and the 222 needs points and condenser. I'm working on getting these home. Pics will follow soon.

All opinions held close to the vest until pictures are released. The 226 seems to be a winner to me. Easier to find replacement tires, and it's got an Onan.

Do you do a lot of tilling? I hear Case tillers are the cat's meow compared to other makes.

I have a John Deere 31 tiller for that job. Well here is the 226 with blower. I get the 222 and deck tomorrow. Also here is the pic from the ad of the 222.uploadfromtaptalk1364517731787.jpg

The only thing right now I need are the original seats. The 226 absolutely purrs like a kitten. This is my first Onan.

Your 226 black frame came with white seat you'll be lucky to find someone willing to part with original seat. Mine is a 83 what is yours ? And you got real good deal.
