Making the base for the curved roof on the end of the building.

Forming the curve in the roof section takes a lot of clamps.

Here is the roof section after the glue has dried.

The finished steps.

The wall along one side of the steps is cut from a solid piece of wood.

Nice steps. Looks a bit tricky to make, especially that small!

Very nice Ray.  Thanks for the history and the pictures  It has been quite a long time since we have been up that way, that far north on the peninsula anyway.  I wish I could say I remember seeing that but..........sounds like an excuse for a road trip this summer.

Ray, This is going to be a very inspirational build, and the story that's goes along with it was a GREAT read. Thanks for sharing, and if I ever get back up that way, I will make a point to go by that airport and see it for myself.

Brian if you do, I will gladly act as an escort/navigator/co-pilot(I aint getting out on any wing though)/pain-in-the-butt, etc and accompany you on your journey.

The airport is a few miles north of North port right on the main road that goes up to the light house.
