Out of neccessity I have reproduced a few Kohler engine Idendification plates plus some extras . My K-161 plate was unreadable . I currently am offering only two plates : K-161 and K-241 . The K-301 and K181 will be available after May 1 . I am asking $25 each plus shipping . Contact me by PM should you want to make a purchase .

If your old I.D. plate has been painted over, is scratched beyond recognition, then this is your chance to purchase a new, blank one . THEY ARE NO LONGER AVAILABLE FROM KOHLER !  You will have to transfer your serial number and specification numbers over to the new plate . It appears that Cub and John Deer used slightly different sized fonts from year to year . You might consider having the numbers engraved instead of stamped . If the original three eared retainers are missing, a suitable sized pop-rivet will work to retain the plate in place on your engine cover . The black finish on the plates is a type of paint, not ink ( it takes three days to dry ) . The plates are the same thickness and material as the original . Please contact me should you have any questions . I accept cash if you live locally ( southcentral PA), checks after they clear, postal money orders and paypal .

I have purchased one of the K161 tags, and I'm very pleased. So much, that I ordered six of the K181S plates. Mike is doing a real good thing here, and trust me, you won't find nicer tags. If you're planning on doing a high quality restoration soon, then this is the chance to give that tractor the final touch.

Sure, but the initial setup cost is quite high and the plates are very labor intensive . If these plates sell well then I might explore doing other ones . I can see that this could get out of hand quickly . I'm retired and am only doing these to supplement my rather small fixed income . But, a second career ..................................hmmmm?
