It's coming along well Matthew! The mowing crew should be pleased!

Were you able to record the ID number of the tractor so you can download the operator's and parts manuals?

I just uploaded the service manual for it.

I can't seem to figure out where the ID is on this machine. I found an ID on the mowing deck.....would that be the ID for the tractor? Thanks for the service manual. Do you have a 3108 in your herd?

The rider and the deck each have their own ID tags with different ID numbers. The ID tag for the rider can be seen at the bottom center of the body assembly, below the seat, in the 5th and the 8th pics in post             #7             of this thread.

No, I don't have one of the RER's....yet.

I found it. Thanks. The tag is worn off at the bottom so it's super hard to make out the numbers. Here's what I think. It's either:

1690527 019099 OR 1890527 019099

Do either of those sound correct? Thanks.

1690527 is the correct model # plugged into the Simplicity site to get the manuals.

Like Scott said, 1690527 is your model no. The rest is the serial no. Just enter the model no. here and you'll be able to download three operator's manuals and a parts list for your RER.

Making headway.......

I finished painting the body and was able to pick up some new tread for the front and rear rims. Rear rims painted and tires are mounted. From rims are primed and tires are patiently waiting to be mounted.

I opted to stay with the original color scheme. Here are some pics of the body just waiting to be installed onto the frame. With a little effort I was able to keep all but one of the decals. Not perfect but I'm pleased thus far. I had to keep reminding myself that this is for the boys and is not destined for a showroom.

A handful of new bolts and assorted hardware and I should have her back together tomorrow.

Looks Awsome!!! The 3108 was the very first rider I used as a kid mowing.  Simplicity was the prefered mower localy back then, no real powerhouse JD or CC dealer near town.  I ran it till the points plunger wore out, local mechanic that did house calls convered it to magnatron ignition.  Dad gave it to me several years ago non running having sat burried in their shed for 15 years or so.  I got it running and gave it to a needy neighbor in the mobile home park we lived in out near Erie PA at the time.  Good to see someone fixing up a RER, they get pushed to the scrap yard more than restored it seems.  I thought the 3108/3110 was much nicer than my buddies Snapper RER.   Cant wait to see it all back together.   Mike

Well, it's been some time now that I've had the 3108 up and running and the boys are loving it. Here are a few picks of the finished product.

Still have a few more things to complete but it's been a fun project.
