i have a bolens 1050 with bad bad springs that push the little balls that allow the shifter to stay in gear. inside the transaxle with the shifter forks is where im talkin. and i have taken the hi and low one out but i cant seem to find the other 2 set screws to take out the other ones. any idea on how those come out?

The set screw is behind the one Tube (Left hand side when standing behind tractor)

i removed that set screw and i only found 1 ball. so i put a spring in and screwed the set screw back in and it fixed the 2nd and 3rd gear shifting rod. how do access the ball and spring to the other shifting rod?

Both balls and Spring are in the same area, you just have to get at them through moving the shift rails.

Here's a thread that has a good explanation and photos
