No, it wasn't really quite that bad. Almost! My SIL owns 90+ acres of pine woods with a small house near Emporia they use for a summer place. My wife and I spend the winter there sometimes. I've spent most of the last 4 months 4 wheeling trails, cutting wood, bird watching, hiking, deer hunting, looking for arrow heads, reading, contemplating the meaning of life (No, I didn't figure that one out!), etc.
Though I've shoot a lot of guns in my life, I've never hunted deer before. It's hard to find hunting places and there is no rifle season. I was in VA for the last two days of the deer hunting. I saw a few but, didn't get a shoot. Next year, I plan to go earlier to get more time.
I went to a local gun auction and bought a Lee Enfield rifle pretty cheap I'm going to clean it up and be ready for next year! I don't want to get into a political debate on here but, if you send me a message, I'll tell you what it took to get a background check from Illinois to Virginia. Ha!
Now, you folks will have to tell me what I have missed out on while being gone. Has Mark777 taken over ownership???
