About 1980 I saw my first Steiner at a dealer in Macomb, IL.  Was drooling back then and you're pretty much doing what I dreamt of back then only better.  Can't wait to see the pictures when finished.

Tomorrow the mini jd 4020 and the new custom tractor will be pulled out of the shop and the Steiner goes in as scheduled. The blade comes off and will be widened 6 inches on each end, the blade will get a more beefy look along with a mesh overhead spillguard to look like a Degelman silage blade. I should get both sets of duels attached by tomorrow night . Sat. I will begin dismantling the rear fenders, seat and fuel tank . I'll post another progress picture in the next day or two.

On schedule today getting the tractors rearranged and now the 4x4 tractor is inside the shop. I got the second adaptor built , got the second spacer built and the bolts cut . This is the very first picture of the machine with both sets of front duels now bolted to the front axle. You can see one tire sitting by the rear axle and tomorrow I will begin working on the rear axle . Already it has taken a new look just raising it up in the air. It was one year ago this week I bought the jd 110 round fender and my first garden tractor project. I have sure had fun puttering with garden tractors over the last 12 months. My most exciting garden tractor tranformation is going to happen now . It is a dream for over 20 years to have my own mini 4x4 articulating tractor with eight tires and wheels with a cool front blade. :camera:

Glad some of you are as excited as I am about this next garden tractor project. Today I finished building the two rear wheel adaptors , 2 rear spacer rings and got all 8 tires now mounted on the axles. You can see the rear fenders have been removed, the fuel tank , the disc brake assembly and the seat. Tomorrow I will manually pivot the frame to see how little it will turn before I lengthen the frame. :camera:

Don, do you plan on lengthening the front frame, near the pivot, to make room for the cab? Or do you plan on tilting the steering up and mounting everything higher?

Not sure yet my plan on the frame stretching , got to do some more planning and looking under the machine. A cab in (exact scale) of the tractor would be so small a person could not fit in it.  Not sure if I want to build a oversized , too tall looking cab on it ?  Can't wait to get going on the Degelman silage blade conversion too . I have always loved big blades on 4x4 tractors. :camera:

I wonder how it would look with a two post ROPS each side of the seat? You could do a canopy or metal roof that would give the appearance of a cab.
