Well, my 8 tires and rims arrived today before lunch . They are 30"x8"x12" mounted on four bolt rims. I will make adaptors for them to fit and build narrow spacers for the duels. I like duels mounted close together and not spaced several inches apart. You can't get a real idea how these are going to look because the Steiner is still sitting on the tiny wheels. Once this frame is raised up to the new height it is going to take on a whole new look. It will not steer properly then without rebuilding the rear frame . The rear fuel tank has to be redone , the rear fenders will have to go and the whole seat arrangment needs to change. I want the seat and steering wheel to turn together . Now the seat turns one way and the steering wheel turns the opposite way. Yesterday I did a little thinking about the duel exhaust stacks and got a great idea for them. Also going to redesign the front and get ride of the square headlights and redo them. Got to build a new front attachment adaptor to still have a easy front mount quick tach system for the blade, bucket or mower deck. Two weeks I should be done with project number 9 and i will get going on this fun next project.

My buddy has a Steiner. They are cool machines. I think it will look terrific with the new wheels and tires on it.

Don, those look like they are pretty much as big as you could go with that wheelbase. Does that machine have a 2 range trans. Those big tires will make it pretty fast in high range.

Those tires are way too big to steer it so I have to lengthen the rear frame section before I can drive it once they are attached. I hope to pull the jd mini 4020 out of the shop a week from today and pull this project in and get going on it. If I make a cab I want it to scale so it looks right . It would be cool to build a pair of scrapers to pull behind it in parades and display at tractor shows. :peace:

Today I got the new exhaust stack on the current tractor and am working on the hood and grill hammering out the dents. I'll post the next progress picture of it soon . Here is a better photo of the long awaited tires and rims I have dreamed about buying for the last 20 years. I could never force myself to spend that kind of money for tires. This makes 12 of this size now that i have. The good news is this is it , no more tires ever to buy ? :tapping_fingers:

4 inches of snow and got some Steiner seat time . Later I removed one Steiner wheel and took it in the shop and designed the first wheel adaptor and got it all drilled out. Tomorrow I'll see if it is going to work and then I'll get going on the rest of them. Friday the Steiner will be in the shop and the last snowplowing for it this winter. The mini jd 4020 will have to take over :camera: pictures coming later this week

Today I was successful with the first wheel adaptor design and everything bolted up perfect. I also designed the first rim ring wheel spacer and bolted on the first set of duels on the first hub. I am very pleased how it is going to look . You can see it is going to give me plenty more ground clearance . Now back to the shop to the plasma cutter and drill press to make more adaptors. More snowplowing this morning with the Steiner and 5 or 6 inches of snow coming again tonight .
