This month we are throwing a twist into the mix. Along with the usual rules read the bottom to find the details for this months Featured Tractor.

Here are the rules:

  • Tractor being nominated must not have been a featured in the last 12 months.
  • Please give at least a one paragraph description to tell us about your tractor.
  • You need 2 photos attached to your post as attachments, not linked from another site, the year make and model, and a brief description of your history with the tractor and what you use it for most.

We will accept up to 5 nominations, this thread will be closed after the 5th nomination. Once 5 nominations are made we will start a new thread for the voting. Voting will run to the end of the current month and on the 1st of the following month the winner will be featured in our Featured Tractors section.

Rules subject to change to better work for everyone. Good luck!

For the month of November we have decided to do something different. We are doing the ugliest tractor contest. Which some of you are probably thinking hey I can do that. I have an ugly tractor but this is where the twist comes in. You have to nominate someone else's tractor for ugly tractor of the month. Have fun and good luck. :poke: :laughingteeth:

Great idea George.
I nominate who else but Daniel's Bush Hog.:worshippy2:
From the few Pics I have seen he should not have much work to get it ready.:bigrofl:

EDITED TO ADD INFO:

(changed one pic, as the one was my D4-10 currently being restored)
Thanks Ducky...I think!:bigrofl: This is a 1967 Bush Hog D4-10. Bought about 6yrs or so ago on ebay. Picked it up near Nashville. Bad tranny & not run in some time. Valves were stuck. Had a stripped 1st gear, so machined a motorcycle gear to press fit & welded to slider shaft. I take it as-is to my local show the last few years. I've won "Ugliest GT" there twice. She actually runs very well despite the harsh looks. With the "fashioned" trans gear, I can't work it much, but I have a spare tranny that I may get the gear out of some day. It's a tractor only a "GT Nut" could love! :D

Oh, and my yearly show for my Ugly D4-10 is tomorrow. As not to have an unfair advantage, this year I washed the thick layer of dust off her! :bigrofl:
If that Bolens returns this year as 2yrs ago, I may get beat by him again if he still has the duct tape literally holding the tube from bulging out the side of it's old tire! I'll report tomorrow night after the show.

Thanks Daniel, well I don't have a lot of info about it.I bought it last spring for $100,she is ugly that's for sure, but all there except for some of the hi-lo range linkage.Even has the original tires, although they are quite weather cracked. One of these days she's gonna get dis-assembled and repainted.

And it doesn't have to be rusty. Long as you think it's ugly, it's up for nomination. Come on guys, let us know what you think of your buddy's tractor! LOL

Here's a little info on the 1000.
This tractor belonged to my Grandfather. He bought it when it was practically new.I can remember spending many summers when I was a kid driving that 1000 around. Years down the road it was left outside under a tarp in need of an engine rebuild so I brought her back to life.
I eventually inherited the Bolens and this is how the addiction all started.....
It has a homemade muffler which My grandfather made a good 30 years ago. He also made the hitch in the back.
She's ugly but a great worker.
Here are some extra pics..

1 question.
Does it have to be a GT?

I have a larger tractor in mind.
