Did you get any time to figure this out?  It is like a mystery novel that I cannot finish reading.

Steps forward and backwards today, getting tired of this: Removed mower deck, removed cover cleaned out all the belt dust from the NAPA belt and grass and dirt, now I know why Grandpa had that home made cover around that back pulley (I reinstalled it) put new JD belt on looked good, remounted mower deck it was really hard this time don't know why!, Mowed in 3rd gear worked for awhile then started slipping, I tightened the nob on the front and it seem to work?? does that tighten belt tension? Once the mower killed in deep grass and was hard to start, once I got it running it was ok, but then my mower deck rear wheel fell off and I didn't know it and ate it with the blades pissed me off!!!!

Does any one have an old style mower deck wheel Im now in need of one??

Know on front is the drive belt tensioner - controls the tension on the belt from the PTO to the deck.  I have experienced similar behaviors on 210/212s when that belt is loose/worn.

As for the deck munching the wheel... been there too.   :wallbanging:

I did not get lost but have been crazy busy.  I finally got my extra parts from storage in Nebraska but have not sorted the Deere stuff yet.  I know I have wheels from a RF deck I parted and the wheels from the 39 off the '68 110.  I have some time Friday this week...
