Looks like you are starting with a very SOLID deck. I hope the deck on my 110 is that good.

Worked about 4 hours today removing parts and the rest of the paint and corrosion on the deck. Applied first coat of primer.

Slow and steady wins the race.  You are still faster than I was with the 120.

I've Been reviewing old home movies after Mom passed away, heres some clips of my Grandpa on the John Deere at the ranch 1982 and me in 1982 cutting his yard at the ranch. I noticed by the pics that the hood was damaged and taped and the grill was broken at that time, but the missing PTO cover was on (Where did it go?) and the lift mechanism was working at that time, no piece of metal holding it up. Memories

Interesting... what is the serial number on the deck?

JD part shows the belts below as the proper belts for your 110.

M45998 - (A) DRIVE (39) 2.111 M (83.10")

M47765 - (B) DRIVE (39) 2.134 M (84.00") (SUB FOR M89327)

These would be what I would expect your 110 to take from JDParts and those are the same belts as my side tag.  The serial number break for both belts is 100000 - 176558.

A quick google search shows both are available.  Not sure what the dealer is doing.

It is possible your parts manual is old and does not have the supersceeded part numbers.  I would think an old number would xref without a problem... or not.

I looked at the local dealer web page shows those belts also available, my deck is Part E0660 SN 111763M

Also on the JD parts catalog when you go to my tractor SN bring up implements mounted Mower, the belt PN shows  M40223 or M41960  FOR TRACTORS:
          110-8HP  (S.N. -271000)
          110-10HP (S.N. -284000)
          112-12HP (S.N. -259000)

I searched for "39" which is the deck model number and the serial helps with production changes.  I am off today so I will dig around some more for you...
