What engine is on a 1650 cub? Are the hydros decent? I can get one for 200$ with the deck.

16 Hp kohler. The 16 in 1650 stands for the engine size, and the 50 stands for deck size. The hydros are awesome as long as its in good shape. I have a 1450, its a 14 hp with a 50" deck. But i dont have a deck. You may have a tough time finding one for 200

Remember there are no stupid questions!  The Cub 1650 was made 1974-1980. Has the Kohler 16 horse. I don't own one but they have a good reputation. For $200 it's a no brainer.

They have a 16 horse Kohler K341. The hydro's are darn near indestructible. The ISO mounts on those are the biggest issue. Just be sure when you go to look at it that they are in good shape. $200 should be a pretty good price depending on the condition.

I looked on tractordata and couldnt find it.  The mobile version, my phone, or me must be messed up.  He bought the roper and said if I took 200 off the cost he would give me the cub.  Its a 127yo guy I work with.  Maybe not 127 but hes old.  Well see when I test drive it tomorrow.  If its decent Ill grab some pictures for you guys.  Thanks for the info.

I don't think the "50" means 50" deck though does it? Can't that model come with a 44" or a 38" deck?

I would grab it. Your getting alot of tractor for that price. They usually run anywhere from 300 and up and you can get attachements later on down the road. Thanks for the question

You are correct looking at tractordata.com could be 38,44 or 50 inch deck.

Now for the bad news. It has 80w-90 in the rear. Is hasn't been run a long time like that. Do you think it caused any harm? With it having that should I put tranny fluid back in it?

Well it didn't do it any good. It probably didn't get pass the filter. I would start it until its flushed out.
