Are you thinking foot control hydro, or hand control hydro?  For most things, I prefer foot hydro.  For the garden plowing I have done, I would rather have gear shift.  Plowing dirt heats up a hydro, but it still works just fine.  I just don't like my Cub's hand hydro, but it turns dirt just fine.

For mowing or pushing snow, foot hydro my favorite, followed by gear.  Back and forth is much easier with a foot operated hydro.

I just don't like MY hand hydro.  Maybe others are better.  With steering, operating the lift, and messing with the hydro tiller, I need more hands.

This project is back on hold since I got the cub. I think I'll be doing the hydro with foot control when or if I do this build.

I love the Fords' foot hydro so much, I plan to convert the FF to foot operation!
