Hi my name is Corey and I am new to this site, I have a wards tractor that I have had for a couple years and I love it.. Problem is I am having a hard tome finding information on it. I am trying to find out what year it is and I would also like to find parts and attachments.

I bought this gem for $50 bucks a few years ago and put $50 into it so I only have $100 into it. Did I get a good deal?

Any help would be great, thanks in advance

Corey welcome to GTT. I think that you got a good deal. That is a nice looking tractor. Check through the manuals section and photo galleries. You can download several manuals for free. You will find that on the old tractors like yours, many of the parts are generic and can be purchased at a NAPA or similar store. Special parts can be purchased from dealers such as our sponsors. Good Luck, Rick

This looks close to what you've got.  http://gardentractor...699-gil-33148a/

Corey, GIL 33145A means you have a Gilson made 1972 model.  I've got the IPL for your model off the Gilson Yahoo group.  You ought to join that group, they are helpful folks with a lot of knowledge.

I can PM you the IPL though, if you would like: I'd post it on the manuals section, but it isn't mine to upload!

I sold a tractor close to yours two months ago.  That thing was a tank: I miss it.  I would buy every Wards/Gilson tractor sold for $50.  You had a great deal!  Did you get any implements with it?

I've got some parts for those models, and I have a few contacts that might be able to help you.  What are you looking for?

There should be manuals for this machine here.I uploaded a dozen or so manuals that I got off of the Gilson Yahoo Group.

Ya they are still here.

http://gardentractor...2-gilson-wards/

I can't find the older one for the 15hp varidrive manual transaxle but one of the slightly newer ones use the same parts. The only difference is the fenders and the shape of the hood.

Here this one covers both the 4 speed Varidrive and the hydro.

Attachments for these older Gilson/Wards tractors are a bit hard to find.If you can find a deck for it in Any condition I would grab it up even if the deck shell is completely rotted out.You can always weld it up or have some one do it for you cheaper than buying a whole other tractor.

I wish I would of kept my old gilsons.I had 2 16hp hydros 1 15hp varidrive 1 18hp twin hydro and about a dozen of the lighter built 5 speed MTD made gilson GTs with the 12" rear tires.

Take a look under the ID tag, It should come off easily. I bet the original paint is under it by the over-spray on the tag. Mine is about the same age and it's blue and white, but it's a Hydro and they were a different color then the gear-drives I think.

I think yours should be yellow and white, but not positive.
