Four weeks ago we got 24+ inches of snow. It was almost gone from the lawn. Now we've got 6"+ of fresh snow and its still coming down. I will end up with several hours of plowing later today. How is everyone else doing?

I was hoping that winter was over, we've been harvesting tomatoes this week from out livingroom garden.

 How is everyone else doing?

It looks like there'll be about a foot or more before this stuff stops fallin here. High winds and coastal flood warnings for the coastal areas. Besafe out there

This one kind of sneaked up on us.  We've been out of school since yesterday, tough call for the Superintendent because it snowed all day but we only had maybe 2" of snow that melted as soon as it hit the pavement.  Fast-forward to now!  It's been accumulating steadily since about dusk last night and this monster storm has gone retrograde backing in on us with the heaviest snow this morning.  It's supposed to shut off like a switch about noon, but it is impressive that this storm center is doing this when it is in the mid-Atlantic about 300 miles away from us.  The satellite images are amazing.  In the mean time we have a solid foot and it's still coming down hard, way more than predicted here.  I gassed up the Craftsman/Berco snowthrower combo and fixed a chain on the JD 214 with blade, so I'm ready.  I'm using the waiting time to get some grading done.

Here is the cleanup crew waiting.

Yup, Two days ago they  said my area would get a dusting to maybe 4".  Over 14" and still coming down!  Some tree branches are  hanging very low onto the driveway.  I'll have to get close, then shut off the blower and poke 'em to try to shake the snow off so that they'll spring up and out of the way.

The weatherman said pull out the emergency crews no travel blah blah blah. Schools university's a lot of businesses closed down for the day , the upto 14 inches with wind ended up at 4 inches of snow with minor drifting.  Actually I'm fairly glad that's all we got.

NEWBURYPORT, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – A home has collapsed on Plum Island.

Fox 25's Catherine Parrotta reports that a home at 41 Annapolis Way collapsed Friday morning.

Video from the scene showed what appeared to be items from the home's kitchen scattered on the beach and in the ocean being hit by waves. A refrigerator was among the items.

Waves could be seen crashing below other homes propped up by stilts in the area.

It was not known if there were any injuries.

Yesterday morning it started snowing, but melted when it hit the ground; around 5 it was sticking very well. It was still snowing hard when I went to sleep, and was snowing hard when I woke up... And it is still snowing hard! We have at least 6 inches right now.

I thought that we would have around 4 inches and it was going to melt this weekend with the high temps... I think I am going to have to plow now.

Yesterday they said by this time today we were supposed to have 5-10". I got called out of work. Nice to have a day off & all.

I wake up today expecting that amount, lucky to have an inch, if that and it's still falling. Hopped on the golf car, used the plow to clear the walk way for the business and here I am. Shops crammed full of out nice golf cars and no where to walk, so bush hog time it is. Boss is cool with it, so I'm happy.

I'm glad though, no stressful back breaking shoveling.

And a man JUST came in who knows someone who went to jersey recently to pick up a bush hog with attachments, he's going to give him a call for me and see if he wants to sell it. Great start to the day!

John how are you doing on your recovering from the storm 4 weeks ago? You had a bunch of tree damage as I recall.

I stopped counting at 33 trees just from my front porch, lots of firewood this year, don't tell Ken from NJ, :bigrofl: :bigrofl:

this weekend I was going to start cutting, but now all is under a fresh foot of new snow, fact just came in from sno-blowing, wet nasty stuff :wallbanging:

Was reading a town report from the electrical dept, they hope to have all '13 blizzard damage fixed by July, trees still down everywhere you look in town, many big trees just pushed to sides of road.
